Latin Souls Began In the 1960s As A Puerto Rican Gang Called Emerald Knights Around Sheridan And Fremont In the Uptown Neighborhood , This Gang Were Led By Two Brothers Eddy And Sonny in 1972 Fighting Off Racist White Gangs And Protecting Puerto Rican Immigrants In The Uptown Neighborhood, Later In 1974 One Of The Brothers,Eddy Passed Away and Sonny Moved to The SouthSide In The Back of the Yards Neighborhood On 55th(Garfield Blvd) and Emerald , This tend Cause Confusion On the Gang History Because They Just So Happen To Share The Same Name As The Street Emerald
This Gang Merged With Another Gang In The Back Of The Yards Called Village Sharks , Creating The Latin Souls on 55th and Emerald Battling Other White Gangs And Devils Disciples In EngleWood, Later Latin Kings Moved On 57th and Halsted Just 2 Blocks Away From the Village Sharks And This Began A Long History Of War With Latin Kings
Later As White Gangs Started to Fade Out In the Back Of The Yards Neighborhood , The Latin Souls Expanded To 55th and Halsted
as More Latinos and Blacks started to Move Into the Back Of The Yards Neighborhood
The Black P Stones Began To Expand Rapidly , Pushing The Latin Souls Off The Corner Off 55th and Halsted.
With Hector Sanchez “Pancho “ Taking Over The Nation And Becoming Leader. They Later Set Up On 55th and Racine Around Sherman Park , The Black P Stones Eventually Moving them to 50th and Hermitage or ChiefTown The Latin Souls Soon Found A New Enemy, The Almighty Saints.
This Would Be Their Most Prominent Set Putting them In Direct War With the Almighty Saints
The War Erupted Between the Saints And The Latin Souls Caused The Latin Souls To Engage In Full Fledged Gang Banging.
Latin Souls Leader Hector Sanchez Later Developed A Relationship with Black Souls Leader Jack BoBo Who Established the “Mad Black Souls” on the Westside Of Chicago , As A Result Jack BoBo Consulted them and Notified them of the New “440” Concept that The Black Souls Now Adopted and that Latin Souls Was to Adopt; Therefor, the 440 for Latin Souls was Adopted in 1975

in the Year 1995 La Raza And Latin Souls Went to War and Shortly After Hector Sanchez Died Of A Heart Attack , Even After , The Souls Still Continued to Expand
The Latin Souls Began To Open Sets in The Chicago Lawn Neighborhood on 62nd and washtenaw, 65th and Sacramento or SkinnyTown , and Opened In The Gage Park Neighborhood On 57th and Trumbull Around Senka Park
They Started to War With Gangster Party People Of 56th And Maplewood , La Raza Of 61st and Fairfield and CrownTown Latin Kings, The War Grew Worse With The GPPs , After Back and Fourth Shootings , The Party People Shot And Killed A High Ranking Member Of The 62nd Latin Souls Which Hurt the Souls
Later On The Same Year A Latin Soul From 62nd Killed a Cook County Sherriff, This Made them A Target For Police , Which Led to The Latin Souls Closing These Sets and The Remaining Members Flipped To Party People
The Souls Would Also Set Up On 63rd and Karlov In The West Ridge Neighborhood
They Later Developed A Rivalry with The Satan Disciples and Eventually the City Knights Because CKs were Family To SDs , They Also started to War with Two Six And Party Players
in 1999 The Latin Souls Opened up Shop in the Mount GreenWood area on 111th and Springfield , Within No time they Expanded all the Way down to 103rd street and all the way down to Pulaski To Rockwell.
in 2001 Key Incarcerations of Lil Folks,Sir DKK And Criminal G Caused the Mount Greenwood Set To Decline Back Down to 111th and Springfield Where they Still Had A Presence.
ChiefTown Would Later Be Pushed To 49th and Hermitage because wars Would Become More Intense with Almighty Saints and Other Gangs.
They Later Would Move To 49th and Marshfield Or “ MurderField “ , As more of their Members Got Locked Up and Died Their Numbers Reduced Drastically over The Years . They Are Now On 49th and Wolcott Where They Still Have A Presence
